I Will Survive

Kyrick survived his first day of school which starts at 7:30(wow that's early for primary school). We left for school around 7:05, little did  know that the four way stop sign in our neighborhood would be backed up for 20 min(mind you we are only like 4 miles from the school). We ended up being a few minutes late, took a quick pic, and were off. I probably would have stayed a couple more minutes if Maliah didn't make a little scene.
" I want school!" She wanted to sit in Ky's chair and she didn't want to leave! The room didn't need anymore crying since there was a girl having a hard time staying. The teacher went right into their lesson keeping the others occupied.

All the way home Maliah was crying,
"I want school. I want Ky!"
I didn't really think that this would be such an adjustment to her. All day long she either questioned me about him or talked about her going to school. It didn't help that I had an agenda that did not go with hers. They was a lot of crying and whining.

I waited for the bus which was late. I should have figured since it's the first day and all.  I had someones hair processing  good thing she's a great friend(don't worry it didn't over process)!  Well when he came off the bus he was all smile's. At first he didn't mention much just one word answers. But later as the day went on he talked about the new people he met. A girl that was really nice. He played with one of his old mates from preschool at recess. One boy kept bugging him and hitting him with his lunch box on his back. I asked him what he did.
" I said stop, but then I hit him back! I thought I liked him but now I don't."
Then we talked about what he could have done different. All in all it didn't damper his day. He talks very highly of his teacher.
" Mom I know why she wears that thing on her head. She's bald!"
"How do you know that?"
" I saw her picture on her tag."
Very observant. The thoughts in my head were if I had to wear an head piece everywhere, I would probably do that too!Especially here in Tucson were you can cook.

It came as a surprise that the person who most had to adjust to this new chapter in our life's was Mia!And I'm sure there will be more with all of us.
